John Deere’s Equipment Manager gives customers visibility into the machines they own and operate. But critical support information including warranties, recalls, manuals and machine status wasn’t always easy to find.
I worked on the UX/UI evolution of the platform, helping reorganize equipment information into a clearer, more centralized experience.
UI shown is a conceptual recreation for portfolio purposes. Actual product screens and proprietary materials have been omitted for confidentiality.
THE PROBLEM
Critical equipment information was fragmented.
Users needed faster access to warranty status, recalls and operator manuals, while machine-status information competed for limited space within an already dense interface. The goal was to make Equipment Manager a more useful self-service destination while reducing unnecessary navigation.
THE APPROACH
Bring the information to the equipment not the other way around.
The redesign surfaced support information directly within equipment details, reorganized status data, simplified tab structures and optimized limited panel space.
One place to manage the machine
Customer and dealer validation indicated that the direction made Equipment Manager feel increasingly like a one-stop shop helping users find information independently while reducing pressure on dealer support.
